At Seven Point Wellness
Cristina oversees Family, Maternal and
Pediatric Health Services - which includes Labor and Delivery Doula support services. She also works with Chronic Illness and provides
Hospice care to both adults and children. She works with people from all walks of life, a wide range of health concerns and
every level of fitness. Her approach is gentle, holistic and personable.
Cristina is a Nationally Board Certified, New York State Licensed
Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. She is also a Certified Detox Specialist and a DONA trained Labor and Delivery Doula.
Her scope of practice includes Acupuncture, Herbal
Medicine, and Therapeutic Bodywork (Shiatsu, Acupressure, Tui Na) - and she integrates fitness, nutrition and lifestyle
consultation into a "whole person" health care approach.
As a credentialed Acupuncturist at Beth Israel Medical
Center, she provides hospital-based care in the departments of Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Oncology, General Surgery,
Pain & Palliative Care, the Cardiac Step Down Unit, and others as requested.
Her clinical practice began with an Internal
Medicine focus and she spent a number of years treating a wide range of complex conditions, including end-of-life care / hospice. Over time her practice
evolved to include a large Family Medicine emphasis, including pre and post pregnancy services and Pediatric care.
In response, she has developed a number of individualized programs for women and their
partners before, throughout, and after pregnancy – including Labor and Delivery support and
Doula Services. She has an easy, gentle way with children - and finds them very responsive to
treatment.
118th Session of the World Health Organization
Advocacy
Cristina had spent many years working in human rights, public policy and institutional change.
Her Doctoral work at Stanford University focused on human rights issues and the success of traditional practices in addressing modern world public health
issues.
She came to understand that no system or institution would ever be healthier than the individuals that created
them. This led her to work in direct healthcare, and inspired her to complete her training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and eventually to become a
Doula.
As a passionate believer of health care beyond a "Western-only" perspective – she openly advocates for the reintegration of traditional medicine and practices into
public health systems. She has worked in institutions, hospitals, clinics and community-based organizations throughout the U.S., Canada, Indigenous Nations and Latin America.
As a balance to her work in direct healthcare, she remains an active advocate as a Consultant on national and local policy, and public health funding initiatives
throughout the US and Indigenous Nations.
